Silver Cleaner (baking soda and foil method)
To use the aluminum foil and baking soda method to clean your silver, heat water in a frying pan (I use my electric one) at least one inch deep. Place a piece of foil to fit the bottom of the pan and sprinkle baking soda in the water.
Amazing but true, dip your oxodized piece of silver in the water and—presto!!—it comes ‘clean’.
I do my jewelery, candle holders and anything else that has blackened. Just rinse off and polish with a dry cloth. The kitchen does get ‘smelly’ though with the chemical exchange (smells like sulphur).
